History of the Jews (in 6 volumes)

This set is one of several editons of Heinrich Graetz's "History of the Jews", originally published in German between 1853 and 1870, and first translated and published in English around 1891. 

This edition is dates to 1940, from the The Jewish Publication Society of America. and is in quite good condition.   

Red clothboards with black and gold decoration on spine. Condition is quite good, perhaps NF-- all bindings sound, text free from markings- it appears that this set is largely unused/unread

Slightly bumped corner to the top of Volume 1, a touch of discoloration to the bottom edge of a most volumes, visible only with the books closed, some minor fraying to cloth at spine ends, one spot to spine of Volume 5.
