George McClellan, not especially renowned as a Civil War general, did create this well regarded manual for use of the bayonet. This is an 1862 printing, with blacked out college library markings. To front pastedown and facing title page. Green cloth boards with title in (fading) gold on spine, no jacket as issued. Some wear to spine ends and corners, light wear for a book of this age. Pages somewhat browned, not badly. Small tear to title page at gutter and bottom center of folllowing page. Internally clean. 110 pages plus index, followed by 24 plates. Some foxing to plates.
